ABOUT KARLA

I was born and raised in Mexico City, and have lived abroad for half my life. Art has always been a part of who I am: I grew up drawing, painting, baking and playing the piano.

My life was somewhat conventional up to a certain point. I went to college and got married, but my soul was not ready for that and I got divorced. Two years later, I stepped onto my conscious spiritual path, and I have spent the last 10 years healing on every level and exploring my spirituality, my relationship with the Earth + its plants, and going deep into what creativity truly means to me.

Today, I create food + art + experiences that bring me back to the most simple, elemental and sacred: the Earth + the Divine. My prayer is that whatever I create honors my roots, ancestors and Nature, and helps others (re)connect with their own sacred creativity.

I have worked + collaborated with clients big and small in the US, Mexico and overseas such as Anthropologie, Target, Whole Foods, West Elm and Moleskine, and smaller, locally owned businesses, chefs and healers. Take a look at my complete list of clients + testimonials here. My work has been featured in Vogue, Elle, InStyle + other publications, and worn by celebrities and spiritual teachers in the U.S. and abroad.

Mother Earth is the most creative artist and the most inspiring teacher of all.
